Is drip edge necessary?

Without a drip edge, water may end up beneath the shingles and may cause damage to various parts of the home. Though your home may not have originally had a drip edge installed, drip edges are now required by most building codes across North America to protect homes from damage.

Any roof board replacement done only if necessary due to rot etc. Extra cost to contract is $100.00 + HST per 4ft x 8ft sheet of plywood up to ½”.

Ice & Water Shield

Ice and water protector, sometimes also referred to as “peel and stick”, is a waterproof roof underlayment membrane developed to protect vulnerable areas on a roof from ice and water damage. Ice and water protectors (sometimes called ice and snow shields in cold climates) are made with polymer-modified bitumen.

Synthetic Underlayment

Synthetic underlayment is a high-tech, highperformance layer of material installed prior to the shingles on areas of the roof decking not covered by ice and water shield.
